It’s time to announce the third annual RebelCaptain Appreciation Week, dedicated to celebrating our favorite tragic power duo: Jyn Erso and Cassian Andor. The event will run from April 8 to 14!
SCHEDULE:
Day One: Favorite Scene || Writing Prompt: Stardust
Day Two: Favorite Trope || Writing Prompt: Leap
Day Three: Favorite AU || Writing Prompt: Soldier
Day Four: Favorite Quote || Writing Prompt: Carry
Day Five: Favorite Headcanon || Writing Prompt: Return
Day Six: Diego Luna and Felicity Jones Appreciation || Writing Prompt: Mirror
Day Seven: Free Day || Writing Prompt: Proud
Please use this week to celebrate Jyn and Cassian in any way you want to, whether it’s making gifs, graphics, mixes or fanvids, writing fic or meta, creating fanart, etc. Also, because we know that appreciation weeks sometimes skew towards visual work, we included a second writing prompt to help get those creative juices flowing.
Don’t feel limited by the intention of the prompt! If you’d like to write meta about your favorite scenes, or make a gifset about ‘stardust’, go ahead! Feel free to fill both prompts on each day. Feel free to complete a prompt for both Jyn and Cassian! The point is to create as much positive Jyn x Cassian related material as possible.

Hey, are you a hopeless challenge-accepter? Addicted to exchanges? I know I am.

The annual May the 4th challenge is coming up, and the tag set recently opened up over at AO3. Go forth and see if your favorite ships are on there, and add them if they're not. Also have a look at which tags you can pick from, and see which ones you'd be willing to write.

As Rogue One and Jyn/Cassian fandom continues to wind down, I've been thinking a bit about where it all started, and the trends across fandom. More recently, I've seen a bunch of posts wondering where certain variations on tropes started off from/who wrote it the first time, and I suppose it's made me nostalgic. A lot of earlier work has kind of faded from visibility, especially if they don't crack the first page sorting by kudos. And that kind of slide into obscurity of Jyn/Cassian fandom history makes me a little sad.

Which is a roundabout way of saying:

Six Jyn/Cassian Fics from very early fandom that started fandom trends, and what has happened to that trend in current fandom.
